My pc's fan keeps changing speed rapidly?

hi,

i have a newly build pc,

the relevant parts are;

mobo: asus crosshair ii

cpu: amd phenom 9950

gpu: ati hd 4790



basically the fan is driving me CRAZY.. it speeds up and then slows down then up then down,

i mean like fan speed rising for 2 second then down for 1 seconds... almost like its trying really hard to cool down and then relaxes NON STOP.. its so irritating i cant work on the thing,



i have ai q fan which was supplied with the mobo, i have tried with and without this function but it never goes away... the wierd thing is it never used to do this... its just getting worse and worse..



any suggestions on how to fix?

I suggest you download and install the latest drivers from ATIs website and try controlling the fan speed from the Catalyst Control Center. If that doesn't work then I suggest you flash your BIOS with the latest version, as I have read of GPU related problems due to the outdated BIOS versions.



Also, can you please specify which PSU you're using? It may just be a case of insufficient power being provided to your graphics card.
