Changing PC fan speed?

I have a Award Modular Bios v.6.00pg and was wondering how to adjust the system and cpu fan speed. I've been having overheating issues and need to see if I can boost them at all. would turning off the 'Cool'n'Quiet' feature allow me to do this?

Thanks!

-and there is no option to change them manually, just a display that tells me what they are running at under the PC/Health menu. Unless it's hidden somewhere...

Cool'n'Quiet refers to the cpu throtling down when it's not needed so that won't help you. First try and open the case and clean the dust inside. If one of the fans died you'll want to replace it. The cpu fan automatically revs up with temperature. If your motherboard allows you can try a software called speedfan to change the speed of the fans. But dust is probably one of the problems.Changing PC fan speed?
Yes, I'd say that turning off the %26quot;Cool 'n' Quite%26quot; feature will increase the cooling, at least marginally. The quiet features on products like this just slow down the fan speeds to a more risky level, as in your case. Turning off this feature should allow more of a buffer for spikes in temperature.
