Speak to Dick Smith who could give you the circuit and switch.

A three detent switch with a few

( 2 different resistors for low and medium speed, well chosen resistors)

And straight out fused circuit for full speed, solder connections and use shrink tubing

Best Wishes.

You can change the switch connector plug to three prong. Or you can keep the switch the way it is and put a speed control switch in line to control the speed. Although either can cause the car to overheat if the fan is not spinning fast enough like the manufacturer engineered it to be.

Just put the speed switch in line with the positive feed to the switch. That way the car will control when the fan kicks in, and you can control its speed.
