short answer, you will need to go into your bios and look for the fan settings, it depends on your motherboard tho.

Any idea on what type of mobo you have?

Go into the Bios settings, could be in there.

Also, make sure that you have plugged the CPU fan into the correct socket on the motherboard, if that is wrong then it could be sending information to a different sicket on the motherboard that has nothing plugged into it, where the CPU fan should be plugged into.

If that doesnt work, called the Intel or AMD or whoever made the CPU and call the Motherboard comapny too.

Hope that helped.

Your motherboard may not support this very useful feature.CPU usage fan Not working?
Speedfan is a great program that will not only allow you to control the fan speed, but you can program it to go certain speeds at certain temperatures. It also supports many newer video card fans. Check out the link in my source....it's a great program.CPU usage fan Not working?
Just a shot in the dark but it probably is running at max speed.... check the BIOSCPU usage fan Not working?

Go to the BIOS menu and load BIOS for default settings or Setup Defaults. If you are having an Intel Motherboard, then I think the F5 button should do the trick.

Press F5 to reset the settings, then F10 to save and Exit.

Good Luck
