Hello. Are there any Aquaman fans here? I have a question about his fighting skills-can you please help me out?

How does Aquaman fare in a brawl when he's on land? How tough is he in fisticuffs?

Someone said he slows down when he's on land, but how physically tough is he? Is he on par with Superman?

In regular DC continuity there has been more than one version of Aquaman:

Orin

Aquaman's most widely recognized power is the telepathic ability to communicate with marine life, which he can summon from great distances. Although this power is most often and most easily used on marine life, Aquaman has at times demonstrated the ability to affect any being that lives upon the sea (e.g., sea eagles), or even any being evolved from marine life (e.g., humans).

Aquaman has a number of superhuman powers, most of which derive from the fact that he is adapted to live in the depths of the ocean. He has the ability to breathe underwater. He possesses superhuman durability high enough to remain unaffected by the immense pressure and the cold temperature of the ocean depths, this also makes him tough enough to be invulnerable to machine gun fire.[27] He also possesses superhuman strength.[28] He can swim at very high speeds, capable of reaching speeds of 10,000 feet per second[27] and can swim up Niagara Falls.[29] He can see in near total darkness and has enhanced hearing granting limited sonar.[30] Although he can remain underwater indefinitely without suffering any ill effects, Aquaman grows weak if he remains on land for extended periods.[30]

After the loss of his left hand, Aquaman initially replaced it with a cybernetic retractable hook, then a cybernetic hand. The mechanical hand was replaced by a magical hand made out of water given to him by the Lady of the Lake, which grants Aquaman numerous abilities, including but not limited to: the ability to dehydrate anyone he touches with it, killing them instantly; the ability to change the shape and density of the hand;[31] the ability to shoot jets of scalding water; healing abilities;[30] the ability to create portals into mystical dimensions;[30] the ability to communicate with the Lady of the Lake through the waterbearer hand;[32] and the ability to nullify magic.[33]

Following his death in Aquaman: Sword of Atlantis and resurrection at the end of Blackest Night, Aquaman has regained his natural hand, but seems to have retained some of his altered powers from the Black Lantern Corps, such as the ability to control undead sea-life.

[edit] Arthur Joseph

The new Aquaman has many physical abilities in common with the original Aquaman, including underwater breathing, submarine speed, and superhuman strength. Like the Golden Age Aquaman, Arthur can't survive outside of water for long. He also gained telepathic powers. He now speaks and understands the languages of the sentient sea peoples unaided, and has a limited ability to communicate with nonsentient sea life. He cannot speak directly to them as his predecessor could, but can send and receive emotional impressions and desires, such as communicating a need for help. He is working to expand the latter ability, and in one instance has been able to %26quot;see%26quot; through the eyes of nearby fish.[34]

[edit] Justice

In Alex Ross' Justice series, Aquaman has extreme regeneration powers. After having his head cut up and experiments done on his brain, Aquaman is left for dead and presumed dead. As the reader, we learn that Aquaman has extreme regenerative powers and has completely healed himself.

Please help me out. Thank you.Hello. Are there any Aquaman fans here? I have a question about his fighting skills-can you please help me out?
Aquaman’s powers vary according to the writer. Originally he was he son of a scientist who had raised him to live under water. No details were given. One might assume some surgery. Aquaman talked to fish and other sea creatures. His home was a vault in a dead, underwater city. This was gradually dropped.

In the stories, mostly Aquaman did not fight himself, but used his “finny friends” to defeat criminals. At some point, the idea that Aquaman could not live out of water for more than an hour was introduced.

In Adventure Comics 260 (May 1959), it was revealed that Aquaman was the son of an exile from the underwater city of Atlantis and a lighthouse keeper named Tom Curry. How Aquaman's mother and the young Aquaman himself could spend years out of water was never explained.

In the Justice League stories that followed, Aquaman continued to fight using his finny friends and there was no evidence that the writers ever thought it through that someone who could swim supper-fast in the ocean should not have at least some super-strength on land.

Aquaman almost ceased to appear in Justice League stories due to the artificiality of having to somehow bring in some menace he could use his fish against.

It was Gerry Conway who brought Aquaman back to the Justice League in 1983 or 1984 who first realized that Aquaman's super-fast swimming meant that he must have some sort of super-strength that could be used in stories taking place on land, and began to use it.

In 1989, Aquaman’s origin was again revamped and he was now a full-blooded Atlantean, the illegitimate son of the Atlantean sorcerer Atlan by Queen Atlanna of Atlantis and was named Orin, He was exposed to die in the ocean, but was adopted by two dolphins and so lived until at last he found a human home with Tom Currry. Orm, Aquaman’s half-brother by Tom Curry and a wife he married was changed to become Orm, the son of the wizard Zatanna and an Inpuat (Eskimo) woman.

Aquaman’s exact strength level was never really pinned down, in any of his various versions. Nor was his telepathic powers. In one old story, he was able to gain telepathic power over a buffalo from a villain who had the power to telepathically control land animals, because this happened to be a water buffalo. In Gerry Conway’s Justice League stories Aquaman’s telepathic powers began to work on humans. This was never followed up.

Aquaman was never shown to have nearly the power of Superman or Wonder Woman. It was never explained exactly how his powers differed from others of his people. In some tales he alone could telepathically command sea life, in others all his people could.

Once it was established that Aquaman had some degree of super-strength, he was always powerful enough to defeat any normal human in battle.Hello. Are there any Aquaman fans here? I have a question about his fighting skills-can you please help me out?
Aquaman has Super Strength but he isn't on par with superman. his strength varies depending on the writer, sometimes he lifts around 25 tons and on one occasion he lifted an entire city block.
