Again 2002 Chevy Venture LT : /?

Well I have changed the thermostat, flushed the radiator, replaced the intake gaskets with a complete kit; upper and lower which was a very costly repair. Still the temp gauge will go about 3/4 of the way up. This usually happens if the van is idiling, or up hill at slow speeds I can get the gauge to go down rather fast by running my heater.. other than that it stays well below the 1/2 mark. Again I have done some reasearch here and I am praying that it is not a head gasket :( BUT at the same time, with a little reading it seems common that the fans wont kick on till the temp gauge gets pretty high . I just got the thing, havent even had it for 2 months yet and under 100,000 miles and I have already put $1000 worth of repairs on it. GM did a great job on the gas mileage, car like ride and room in this thing but the coolant system is unreal. Sooo any ideas as to how I can check these fans to make sure they are kicking on? After 3250.00 purchuse plus 1000.00 in repairs moneys starting to run a little dry : /Again 2002 Chevy Venture LT : /?
it's real easy to check. start the vehicle open the hood and watch the fan, if it comes on than it is working, one thing i don't understand though, is the vehicle overheating? It doesn't sound like it is, when the temp goes up, what is the temp range? does it match your thermostat? if you have a 200 degree thermostat than that is when it should open3/4 of the way up doesn't tell me anything, if 3/4 the way up is around190-210 degrees it sounds like it is running normal. If you have 2 fans they should come on when the temp meets the thermostat temp rating.Again 2002 Chevy Venture LT : /?
coolin g fans won't come on till the engine reaches 212-223 degrees, depending on the programming in ecm. if it's not overheating or losing coolant than there's no problemAgain 2002 Chevy Venture LT : /?
cooling fans only kick on under 35 mph make sure they are kicking on and off right if they are not check fan relay to check head gasket take belt off open radiator cap start engine look for air bubbles in coolant don't run long like this or other damage will happen
